More than 50 animated safety modules for Thomas & Piron

Thomas & Piron, a Belgian construction company, wanted safety rules that people on site would understand and remember. Since 2022, we have produced more than 50 animated modules in one visual style. Thomas & Piron uses them in French, in onboarding, workshops and safety briefings.

The situation

Safety rules often live in documents and formal training. On a building site, what counts is whether people recognize a risk in the moment and know what to do.

Thomas & Piron needed a format that explains each rule through a situation people know from their own work, and that stays the same from one topic to the next.

The brief

  • Turn each safety topic into a short animation.

  • Start from familiar site situations, not from the rule text.

  • Keep one look and one recurring character, so every new module feels part of the same series.

  • Produce steadily over time, without starting from zero for each module.

What we made

  • More than 50 animated safety modules. One safety topic per module.

  • A recurring character. The same illustrated character appears across the modules, so people recognize the series.

  • One structure for every module. The risky situation, the right behavior, what can go wrong, and the good practice to remember.

  • Storyboards from real site situations. Each module starts from a situation people meet on site.

  • Reusable visual assets. Characters, sets and props we reuse, so each new module builds on the last.

  • Visuals for internal safety campaigns.

The modules

Each module shows one situation from start to finish.

The same character, style and pace run through the whole series, so a new module looks familiar from the first frame.

Where Thomas & Piron uses them

  • Onboarding of new employees.

  • Workshops and safety briefings.

  • All modules are in French.

In Thomas & Piron's words

“Safety messages need to be understood and applied in everyday work. Break the Grid translated familiar site situations into clear, memorable animations, giving us a consistent way to explain good practice and keep safety visible throughout our internal training.”
